Dual Language Education provides a multilingual/multicultural enrichment education for both native English and English learner
families and their children.
Although family and community involvement is important for all schools and educational programs, it is particularly important for dual language programs.
Since program and instructional decisions should always include the perspective of dual language families and the community, it is essential that proponents of Dual Language Education be well versed in what the aims and objectives of the program really are and what the basic components look like. DLeNM offers a variety of opportunities for families and community as part of its mission.

Resources for Parents and Community Members
Partnership for Community Action has worked to build strong, healthy communities in Albuquerque and across New Mexico since 1990. PCA focuses on critical community issues like education, economic sustainability, health, and immigrant right. Through raising awareness and advocacy opportunities, the organization helps people and families become strong leaders in their neighborhoods and in New Mexico.

Committed to helping school communities build a culture of positive school, family, and community partnerships where everyone works together to create better programs and opportunities for students. CESDP developed a resource that is based on 30 years of research in the field of parental involvement. Working Together: School, Family, and Community Partnerships – A Toolkit for New Mexico School Communities provides resources for building partnerships, improving student success, providing staff development, enhancing parent leadership, and connecting schools and communities. All resources for use with families are now available in English and Spanish.
